Betty Bookkeeper explains if a personal trainer can claim deductions for a RA – Aug 2015

Hi Betty

With regards to my question last month about a personal trainer, will this person then be entitled to claim their RA when doing their tax return?

Kind regards,
Roy

Hi Roy

Yes, all individuals are entitled to claim a deduction for their RA – this is limited to 15 % of their non-retirement income. Retirement income generally refers to a salary out of which a person makes pension fund contributions so non-retirement income will include all other income.

Hope that helps!
